ORIGIGRIP: Affordable, Dexterous Robotic Gripper



ORIGIGRIP - It is the Most Affordable, Dexterous Robot Gripper (Hand) for your robotics project! The entire ORIGIGRIP can be mounted to a standard servo via the included 25t servo horn attachment located in the rear. It is driven by a standard (high torque) hobby servo yet can handle an incredible variety of objects.  It can open to 225 mm (almost 9") and has 2 "fingers", each with 2 articulating segments giving the ORIGIGRIP a firm hold on almost anything.

Rubberized finger padding provides extra grip and helps to cushion the object being grasped. You can add wrist rotation by mounting ORIGIGRIP to a standard servo via the included mounting horn at the back (Available as a separate perk). The ORIGIGRIP opens and closes quickly and fluidly.  When its "fingers" come in contact with and object, they begin to enclose it, conforming to its shape to get a great grip!

ORIGIGRIP was designed from the ground up to be extremely versatile, lightweight, strong, and affordable.  Its design is that of an "under-actuated" gripper, where just one actuator can manipulate multiple degrees of freedom.  This means your robot can grip almost anything while being driven by a single control signal (Open / Close).  The "fingers" are driven using artificial tendons made of durable mono-filament line. The lower (proximal) segments will begin to close first, until an object interrupts their path, then the further (distill) segments will continue to close until the object is fully grasped.  The gripper opens in a similar fashion until it reaches the completely open position.
